Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AiMote server software, mobile application, and associated cloud services (collectively, "AiMote" or the "Service"), operated by AiMote ("we," "us," or "our").
If you are using AiMote on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
AiMote provides:
- Open-source server software that runs on your computer and interfaces with Claude Code CLI and Codex CLI.
- A mobile application for iOS and Android that connects to the AiMote server.
- An optional cloud tunnel service that routes WebSocket traffic through a secure Cloudflare-powered subdomain under
aimote.net.
AiMote is a connectivity tool. We do not provide AI services. All AI capabilities you access through AiMote are provided by Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (Codex) under their respective terms of service.
3. License to Use the Software
The AiMote server software and mobile application are provided under the MIT License. This means you are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to the conditions of the MIT License included in the source repository.
The AiMote Cloud tunnel service (the *.aimote.net subdomain infrastructure) is operated by us and subject to these additional Terms.
4. AiMote Cloud Tunnel Service
4.1 Eligibility
The AiMote Cloud tunnel service is available to individuals and organizations that have legitimately installed the AiMote server software for their personal or professional use of Claude Code CLI or Codex CLI.
4.2 Fair Use
Each installation of the AiMote server is assigned one subdomain tied to the machine's hostname hash. You agree to use this subdomain only for operating the AiMote server on the designated machine. You may not:
- Use the tunnel to proxy or host services unrelated to AiMote.
- Use the tunnel to serve public web content or run a general-purpose web server.
- Attempt to enumerate, register, or claim subdomains for machines you do not own.
- Use the tunnel in a manner that unreasonably burdens our infrastructure.
4.3 Availability
The AiMote Cloud tunnel service is provided on a best-effort basis. We make no guarantees of uptime or availability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use AiMote to:
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.
- Transmit, process, or store content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to computer systems, networks, or data.
- Transmit malware, viruses, or other malicious code.
- Interfere with the proper working of AiMote or its underlying infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from portions of AiMote that are not already open source.
Your use of Claude Code CLI and Codex CLI through AiMote must also comply with Anthropic's and OpenAI's respective usage policies.
6. Intellectual Property
The AiMote name, logo, and branding are trademarks of AiMote. The open-source software components are licensed under the MIT License as noted in the repository. You may not use our trademarks to suggest endorsement or affiliation without written permission.
7. Privacy
Your use of AiMote is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using AiMote, you consent to the data practices described in that policy.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
AiMote is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- Warranties that AiMote will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
- Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information.
AiMote relies on third-party CLI tools (Claude Code, Codex CLI) and infrastructure (Cloudflare). We make no warranties regarding those third-party services.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AiMote and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.
- Costs of substitute goods or services.
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
- Actions or inactions of Claude Code CLI, Codex CLI, or other AI systems.
This limitation applies whether the claim is based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AiMote and its contributors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of AiMote in violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Your infringement of third-party rights.
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced in the project's GitHub repository. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of AiMote following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and uninstall the software.
12. Termination
You may stop using AiMote at any time by uninstalling the software and deleting your configuration. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the AiMote Cloud tunnel service for accounts that violate these Terms.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration or a court of competent jurisdiction, as appropriate under applicable law.
14. Open Source Components
